Efek Laminasi Seng Kk 40 Terhadap Laju Pertumbuhan Teritip
Ships are a good substrate for attaching barnacles. This can create problems for
activities at sea. Attachment to barnacle organisms is a natural process, but
barnacle organisms can colonize causing problems. In order for ship construction
to last longer at sea, it requires re-cleaning and protective materials that can
inhibit the growth rate of barnacle attachment. Re-cleaning is carried out by
coating the hull of the ship using an alternative material in the form of seng kk 40
to protect the wood from weathering due to contact with sea water and the
sticking of barnacles directly to the wood. This seng kk 40 also works effectively
with the hydronic method, which is working in dynamic conditions when the ship
is moving, so the barnacles that have been attached will release by themselves due
to the slippery surface of the seng kk 40. Based on the statistical test carried out,
there were differences in the number of attachments of barnacles to the lamination
and without lamination specimen seng kk 40 every month, where is thit greater
than ttabel, so H1 is rejected and H2 is accepted, which means in the amount of
barnacles attached to the laminated and without lamination seng kk 40.
Keywords: Seng kk 40, barnacles, hull.
