ABSTRACT
The research was conducted in December 2019 in Kepenghuluan
Panipahan, Pasir Limau Kapas Sub District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province.
The research location was determined purposively. The method used in this
research is a survey method. The purpose of this study is to determine the
adaptation strategies of traditional fishermen in meeting the needs of families in
Kepenghuluan Panipahan. Respondents taken in this study were 10% (20 people).
The results showed that: Most of the savings strategies are in the medium
category, which means that the strategy has not been carried out optimally (not
always done). As for the savings strategy carried out, namely by reducing the cost
of spending on food, health, education and other expenses such as social
donations, electricity, clothing and furniture. Most of the additional resource
strategies are in the medium category, which means that the strategy has not been
carried out optimally (not always done). As for the strategy to increase resources,
such as utilizing their own catch, asking for help from medicinal plants from
relatives, seeking child scholarships and having family members work to increase
family finances. Most of the social strategies are in the medium category meaning
that the strategy has not been carried out optimally (not always done). The social
strategy that is carried out is by utilizing social relationships such as utilizing the
sale of cheap food, asking for help if a family member is sick, observing child
scholarships and asking for help from relatives, relatives and neighbors if you
need money urgently.
