Sintesis Nanokitosan Dengan Metode Gelasi Ionik Menggunakan Pelarut Asam Asetat Dengan Variasi Konsentrasi Kitosan Dan Rasio Larutan Kitosan Dengan Natrium Tripolifosfat
ABSTRACT
Nanocitosan research continues to be developed using easy and simple methods. The
content of chitosan in shrimp shells is used as raw material for the synthesis of
nanocitosan. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the
concentration of chitosan and the ratio of chitosan solution to sodium
tripolyphosphate (NaTPP) on the size of the nanocitosan produced and to determine
the relationship between the nanocitosan using the Particle Size Analyzer (PSA)
analysis method, Zeta Potential Analyzer, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and
Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). The research was carried out through several
stages including preparation of raw materials, preparation of solutions,
manufacturing of chitosan, preparation of n99]anocitosan using the ionic gelation
method and characterization of nanocitosan. The procedure for making nanocitosan
is to make 1% acetic acid solution and 0.1% NaTPP. Chitosan solution with a
concentration of 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3% was stirred using a magnetic stirrer. After 15
minutes of sodium tripolyphosphate (NaTPP) solution at a volume ratio of 3:1 each
of NaTPP chitosan; 5:1 and 7:1 are added slowly to the chitosan solution. Stirring
continuously for 1 hour at 1200 rpm. Furthermore, the characterization was carried
out on the nanocitosan. The deacetylation degree of chitosan from dried shrimp
industrial waste in the results of this study has met the quality standard of chitosan,
namely 76.3%. The results of the research that have been carried out obtained the
size of chitosan nanoparticles in samples 1, 2, 3 4 and 5. The best chitosan-NaTPP
particles are sample 1 (0.1%; 3:1) with the resulting particle size of 300.6 nm , the
polydispersity index of 0.283 which shows the uniformity of particles and the zeta
potential of -0.31. FTIR spectrum of the chitosan-NaTPP particles which shows the
cross-linking formed.
