Degradasi Methylene Blue Melalui Metode Fotokatalitik Menggunakan Covalent Triazine Framework-Copper (Ctf-Cu) Sebagai Fotokatalis Ework (Ctf)
ABSTRACT
Indonesia is one of the countries that rely on textile industries as an export
commodity. Textile industries have an important role in offering employment,
decrease unemployment, increase income tax, and escalate foreign export
exchanges. Either domestic or international demands of Indonesia’s textile have
been growing year by year so that the increasing of Indonesia’s textile industries
occurs. But, it is essential to know that the more textile industries exist the more
environmental pollution occurs. Some rivers like Ciliwung, Cisadane, and
Bengawan Solo have been contaminated by the textile liquid waste either smallscale
or large-scale. Therefore, a special method is highly needed to handle it.
Photocatalytic is the most suitable method to handle the liquid textile waste. The
photocatalytic method is able to degrade dyes quickly without complex equipment
so that it is more economical. By using photocatalyst and UV-Vis irradiation,
hydroxyl radical (•OH) can be produced and function as a strong oxidant to
degrade waste molecules into simpler molecules. To support the photocatalytic
process, the exact photocatalyst to use is covalent triazine framework (CTF) with
copper (Cu) as catalyst doping. CTF-Cu is synthesized by using an ionothermal
method that uses 1,4-dicyanobenzene as monomer and CuCl2 and ZnCl2 as molten
salt. Degradation performance of CTF-Cu is splendid, with the highest percent of
degradation reaches 95,02%.
