Strategi Peningkatan Daya Dukung Sub Das Batang Kumu Kecamatan Rambah Hilir Kabupaten Rokan Hulu
Batang Kumu sub-watershed is one of the sub-watersheds of the Rokan Watershed which has a 3,311 ha Catchment Area located in Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The Batang Kumu sub-watershed has a river that plays a strategic role and is the mainstay of people who live in the downstream area for agricultural activities in the form of rice fields (irrigation) and other agricultural commodities. material for the government to consider in making policies, especially on vital objects relating to the lives of many people.
The source of the monitoring reports that have been carried out by BPDASHL Indragiri Rokan stated that over time, land use occurred due to the massive increase in the area of oil palm plantations and the activities of Industrial Plantation Forest companies in the Upstream part of the Kumu Sub-watershed which had a significant impact. to changes in the hydrological cycle, especially to water conditions in the middle and downstream of the Batang Kumu Sub-watershed where the area will experience flooding in the rainy season and drought during the dry season. The impact of land conversion from secondary forest or shrubs to oil palm plantations and harvesting of Acacia (Acacia mangium) in the upstream part of the Batang Kumu Sub-watershed on a large scale, where the existing conditions of plant composition that have formed vegetation with regular canopy density will experience structural changes in open areas so that there is potential for increased land degradation and an acceleration of surface runoff in the Batang Kumu Sub-watershed. This study aims to analyze the existing conditions of the carrying capacity of the Batang Kumu Sub-watershed, Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency and develop strategies to increase the carrying capacity of the Batang Kumu Sub-watershed, Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency to keep it sustainable. The research approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a survey method.
The results showed the value of the carrying capacity of the Batang Kumu sub-watershed, Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency in the existing condition of 117.5 with a poor classification in the value range of 110 < carrying capacity of watershed
