Analisis Struktur Pasar Pada Industri Perbankan Indonesia
The banking industry has a very important role in economic development
in Indonesia. Therefore, efforts to strengthen the banking system are the key to
success in maintaining the sustainability of national economic development. In
Indonesia, the number of commercial banks is currently 110 banks. The banking
industry is currently not only competing in attracting customers but also
competing in order to survive in this industry because many business actors are
merging to increase market share. This study aims to determine and analyze how
the market structure in the Indonesian banking industry.
The data used is secondary data sourced from Indonesian Banking
Statistics, the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Bank Indonesia, and the Annual Report
of each commercial bank in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive approach
method. The instrument used to analyze the market structure of the banking
industry in Indonesia is the concentration ratio of the 4 largest Indonesian
banking companies (CR4) and the Harfindahl-Hirschman Index (IHH). The
results of the analysis in this study indicate that the banking industry in Indonesia
has an oligopoly type II with a high concentration form of market.
