Analisa Kekuatan Tekan Dan Kekuatan Tarik Pada Balok Laminasi Kayu Laban (Vitex Pubescens) Dan Bambu Petung (Dendrocalamus Asper) Sebagai Alternatif Komponen Konstruksi Kapal
ABSTRACT
The demand for wood as the main material for shipbuilding is always increasing
and it is becoming more and more difficult to find quality wood for shipbuilding
on the market due to the depletion of wood in the forest. This study aims to
determine the physical and mechanical properties of the combination of Laban
wood and Petung bamboo so that it can be used as a material for shipbuilding.
When creating test objects, reference is made to Japanese Industrial Standards
(JIS) and Indonesian National Standards (SNI). In the physical tests, the specific
weight refers to the JIS Z 2102 standard and the moisture content to the JIS Z
2103 standard, while the mechanical tests for the tensile test refer to SNI 03-
3399-1994 and the SNI 03-3958-1995 pressure test. The results showed that the
mean value on the physical examination for specific weight of wood was 0.72 and
bamboo was 0.81 belonging to class II strong wood, while the wood content was
14.3% and bamboo was 34.6%. The highest tensile strength mechanical test is
3.1186Mpa, which is equivalent to the strength of BKI class V wood, the highest
fiber parallel compression test is 10.73Mpa, which is equivalent to the strength of
BKI class V timber, and the highest fiber perpendicular compressive test is
61,88Mpa which is equal to strength BKI wood class II. Based on the results of
the research, the combination of laban wood and petung bamboo can be used as
construction material for deck houses.
