Pertumbuhan Dan Perkembangan Bunga Serta Buah Matoa Merah Dan Kuning (Pometia Pinnata Forst)

This study aims to determine the stages and duration of growth and development of flowers, the appropriate harvesting time according to the glucose content of the fruit and to determine the duration of seed formation and the discolouration of the seeds of matoa red and yellow. This study used a descriptive analysis by displaying the induction phase of flowering, the initiation phase of flowers, the differentiation phase of the flower, the anthesis phase (blooming), flower-visiting insects, fruit age 7 days after pollination (DAF), fruit cross section 28 to 64 DAF, seed development and change in seed coat color and standard deviation: fruit fresh weight, fruit fresh diameter, fruit length, fruit skin weight, fruit skin thickness, seed weight, seed diameter, aryl weight, aryl thickness and total dissolved solids.
The floral development of the matoa plant is divided into six stages of development over a 26-day period. Stage 1 to 2 lasts 5 days, which is the induction phase of flowering. Stage 3 is the flower initiation phase, which lasts for 7 days starting on day 6. The differentiation phase will take place in stages 4 to 5, from day 13 to day 19. Stage 6 takes place from day 25 to day 26, which is the anthesia phase. Matoa plants have 3 types of flowers, namely: a female flower and two male flowers. Insects visitors when the flowers bloom is Dolichoderus thoracicus ants, green flies (Lucilia sericata), bees (Apis mellifera) and wasps (Vespa affinis). Harvesting the matoa fruits must be carried out at 56 DAF, because the total dissolved solids content in the fruit of the matoa is maximum, namely: yellow matoa 26.59 %brix and red matoa 25.93 %brix. The development of seeds in the matoa fruit to fully form into seeds took 8 days, which was observed from 10 DAF to 18 DAF. The discoloration of the matoa seeds from white to completely red took 13 days, which was observed from 28 HSP to 40 DAF.
