Pengaruh Bentuk Dan Campuran Butiran Pasir Terhadap Kuat Gesernya
This study aims to analyze the shape of sand grains based on grain
morphological parameters and to examine the effect of a mixture of sand grains
on their shear strength. This research was conducted by making variations in the
form of a sand mixture, in all three variations with a relative density of 70% and
20%, which were held in sieve No. 20. The form of sand grains consists of 2
forms, namely groups of grains that are angular (angular) and rounded
(rounded), which are distinguished by the value of roundness (R), sphericity (S)
and regularity (ρ), which are processed using imageJ.
The results showed, analysis of the form of sand grains using imageJ software,
obtained levels of grain shape of the two sands, namely semi-angular (subangular)
and semi-rounded (sub-rounded). The comparison of the shear angle (ϕ)
between the two sub-angular and sub-rounded sand grains shows that the sand
shear angle (ϕ) of the Sub-Angular (SA) sample is 100%, higher than that of the
100% Sub-Rounded (SR) sample. with the same relative density, namely Dr =
20%, of 41.34⁰ with a difference of 13.5% and the sand shear angle (ϕ) of the
Sub-Angular (SA) sample 100%, higher than the Sub-Rounded (SR) 100 sample.
% with the same relative density (Dr = 70%) as 70%, which is 43.35 perbedaan
with a difference of 15.2%. Comparison of the shear angle (ϕ) between the
variations in the mixed form of sand grains combined with the same relative
density (Dr) of 20%, it can be seen that there is a difference in the behavior of the
shear angle (ϕ) between the three variations of the sand mixture, that the
variation (SA 75% + SR 25%), which is higher than the sample (SA 50% + SR
50%) and (SA 25% + SR 75%), which is 44.59⁰ with a difference of 7.29% and
12.78%, while with a relative density ( Dr) with the same 70%, that the variation
(SA 25% + SR 75%), is higher than the sample (SA 50% + SR 50%) and (SA 75%
+ SR 25%) which is 40.95 ⁰ with a difference of 1 , 1% and 2.3%. This is because
the shear plane is dominated by semi-angular (sub-angular) grains.
