Penggunaan Katalis Ag-Pt Pada Dye Sensitized Solar Cell Berbasis Nanorod Zno Didoping Al

Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) is third generation of solar cells that
can be an alternative solar cells because it has advantages, such as low
manufacturing costs and simple processes. Various modifications were made to
the constitution components of DSSC to obtain increased efficiency. Aluminium
doped on ZnO as working electrodes and Ag doped on Pt as counter electrode is
expected to increasing the efficiency. This research aims to synthesis and analyze
the characteristics of Pt:Ag catalyst nanomaterials and ZnO:Al nanorods with
variety percentage concentrations of doping, and then fabricating and analyze the
performance of the DSSC based on the ZnO:Al as working electrode and the Pt:
Ag as counter electrode.
This study used seed mediated growth method at 50°C for 5 hours for Pt:
Ag growth and hydrothermal method at 90°C for 3 hours for ZnO:
Al growth . The variation of percentage Ag concentration on Pt at 1%, 3%, 5%,
7%, and 10%, while the Al concentration on ZnO variation at 0.3%, 1%, 1.5%,
2%, and 3%. The samples from Pt:Ag and ZnO:Al were characterized using UVVis,
FESEM-EDX, and XRD, then sandwich structure DSSC efficiency was
measured by analyzing I-V.
The XRD patterns of the Pt:Ag sample showed peaks at 2θ = 39.900
and 46,400 which reprecented by crystal orientation (111) and (200). The UV-Vis
spectrum of the ZnO:Al samples showed that strong reflectance occurs at
wavelength 400-800 nm which represents the energy gap of sample range from
3.20-3.24 eV. FESEM images showed the shape of ZnO:Al
nanomaterial is hexagon-nanorod for all samples while the shape Pt:Ag samples
seen changes sphere which tends to be irregular . The EDX spectrum of the Pt:
Ag 3 % sample shows the atomic percentage of 10.3 % for the Pt element and
0.2 % for the Ag element . Whereas for the sample ZnO: Al 1% the percentage of
Zn, O, and Al atoms was 51.9%, 48.0% and 0.1% . Analysis of the I-V
characteristics of the cells turn out the highest efficiency 0.210% obtained from
the best samples with 1% ZnO:Al as the working electrode and 3% Pt: Ag as the
counter electrode.
