Uji Beberapa Jenis Bahan Organik Kompos Yang Mengandungentomopatogen Metarhizium Anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorokin(Metankos) Patogenitasnya Terhadap Larva Oryctes Rhinoceros L.
ABSTRACT
Oryctes rhinoceros pest is one of the main pests in palm oil plantations.Biological control with
Metharizium anisopliae has great potential for controlling O. rhinoceros larvae in organic matter. M.
anisopliae should be given to compost media (metankos). This study aims to obtain the best
compostable organic material for the development of M. anisopliae approved by its pathogenicity to
O. rhinoceros larvae. This research was conducted with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD)
consisting of 6 treatments and each treatment was repeated 5 times and obtained 30 experimental
units. Each unit contained 10 O. rhinoceros larvaes. The concentration of M. anisopliae was
50g/500ml water (96x10 conidia/ml). The treatment was the difference in organic media consisting of
6 media settings, as follows: M1 = OPEFB Media, M2 = rice husk media, M3 = sawdust media M4 =
OPEFB media ½ + sawdust ½, M5 = OPEFB Media ½ + Rice Husk ½ , and M6 = Rice Husk Media
½ + Sawdust ½. Safety parameters include initial death time, lethal time, daily mortality, total
mortality, changes in behavior and morphology of a larvae, chemical analysis of metankos,
temperature and humidity. The result showed that the best organic material which was composted as
the development of Metarizhium anisopliae seen from infecting Oryctes rhinoceros larvae was seen in
the media, which can cause Oryctes rhinoceros larvae to reach 72.50%.
