Penggunaan Beberapa Konsentrasi Baculovirus Oryctes Lokal Untuk Mengendalikan Larva Oryctes Rhinoceros L. Pada Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guinensis Jacq L.)
ABSTRACK
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq. L) is a very important plantation crop.
Pests, especially rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros L.), are the main
constraints in their cultivation. The solution offered is to use the biological agent
Baculovirus oryctes. The aim of this study was to obtain a better concentration of
local Baculovirus oryctes to control Oryctes rhonoceros L. larvae in oil palm. The
study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD)
consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments used were various
concentrations of Baculovirus oryctes suspension, namely: 0 ml.500 ml-1 water,
40 ml.500 ml-1 water, 50 ml.500 ml-1 water, 60 ml.500 ml-1 water, and 70 ml. .500
ml-1 water. The results showed that the concentration of Baculovirus oryctes
suspension 70 ml.500 ml-1 water (280 x 106 PIBs.ml-1) was the concentration that
tended to be better in controlling the larvae of Oryctes rhonoceros L. with an
early time of rapid death at 96 hours, lethal time ( LT50) larvae of Oryctes
rhonoceros L. was 216 hours and the total mortality of Oryctes rhonoceros L.
larvae was 75%..
