Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Cabai (Capsicum Annuum L.) Pada Media Gambut Yang Diberi Beberapa Bahan Organik Dengan Cara Aplikasi Berbeda
ABSTRACT
The research aimed to determine the growth and yield of chili by
combination of types of organic matter with different application methods in peat
soil. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of
Agriculture Universitas Riau from December 2018 to April 2019. This research
used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with
single factor and 3 replications that consist 6 combinations of organic matters and
application methods, namely 50 g.kg-1 rice straw is immersed, 50 g.kg-1 rice straw
is spread, 50 g.kg-1 soy litter is immersed, 50 g.kg-1 soy litter is spread, 50 g.kg-1 oil
palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) is immersed, 50 g.kg-1 OPEFB is spread. The
data obtained were analyzed statistically with a variance of analysis using the
program Statistical Analysis System (SAS), the effect of each combination of
treatments is known through testing Honest Significance Difference (HSD) at 5%
level. Results showed that application of organic matter both spreading and
immersing gave the same effect on growth and yield of chili. However, the
combination of soy litter with immersed or spread application showed higher
vegetative plant growth, number of fruits per plant, and fruit weight per plant.
