The background of this research is the researcher wants to know how the kind of transformation that occurs from the saga Lancang Kuning on the lyrics in the Lancang Kuning song. The purpose of this study is to describe the type of transformation that occurs from the saga to the Lancang Kuning song lyrics in terms of its intrinsic elements, values, and meanings. The benefit of this research is that it can provide knowledge about the transformation of text in old literary works, especially saga and enrich the treasury of literary works and can be used as reference material for advanced researchers. The research method used is a qualitative method that describes descriptive data. The data collection technique used was literature study. There are two sources of data in this study, namely the first data source in this study is the Lancang Kuning textbook obtained from folklore books, Bengkalis encyclopedia, and collection of folk ballads by batch 2015 Indonesian Language Education Study Program The second source of data in this study is the song lyrics of Lancang Kuning which is obtained from a book of collections of regional songs from all over Indonesia by S.K. Josh, published on March 10, 2017 in Jakarta. The data found by the authors amounted to 52 data of conversion transformation. These data were obtained from 18 data on intrinsic elements, 18 data on value elements, and 16 data on the meaning elements contained in the Lancang Kuning saga, Si Lancang saga, Lancang Sapo Ago Saga, and Lancang Kuning song lyrics..
