This study aims to describe the spell of the Malay tribe in Tembilahan Hilir Village. In the research, there is a problem formulation that examines the spell, namely how is the structure, function, and process of lowering the spell of the Malay tribe in Tembilahan Hilir Village? This study aims to identify and describe the structure, function, and process of reducing the spell of the Malay tribe in Tembilahan Hilir Village. The benefit of this research is to increase the reader's understanding and knowledge of literature, especially the spells found in Tembilahan Hilir Village. The research method used is a qualitative method that describes descriptive data. The data collection technique in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The analysis technique used is to analyze the data based on the structure, function, and spell reduction process. The data source that becomes the object of research is the Malay spell text obtained from an interview with a Malay informant. The research data consists of 14 data, all of which have a complete spell structure. Each of these spells has a function including, namely, as a medium of treatment, as a sweetener / charm, and as personal protection. From the research results found several supporting conditions regarding the process of lowering the spell in order to maintain its sustainability.
