Efektivitas Eksperimen Virtual Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa Pada Materi Fluida Di SMAN 5 Pekanbaru
Education is one of the basic elements in improving the quality of human resources. A series of training and teaching have been prepared in a conscious and planned manner, so that the goals of each country in educating the nation's life can be achieved. However, the real conditions on the ground do not always run smoothly. There are various factors that affect the quality of education of the nation's children, one of which is the Covid-19 pandemic. The learning process, which was initially face-to-face, now requires the various parties involved to adapt to changes in this pandemic era.
Online learning as an alternative solution also turns out to still cause various problems, especially in physics material that is abstract, requires practicum, and visualization in it. Physics learning, which should have included 3 dimensions, namely knowledge, processes, and attitudes, turned out to be difficult to fully implement during the Covid-19 pandemic. Coupled with the process of packaging material that tends to be monotonous, it increases the level of student saturation, so that it has an impact on the quality of learning outcomes such as aspects of science process skills (KPS). Therefore, the implementation of virtual experiments can be used as a solution in overcoming various problems that have arisen due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This study aims to describe the effect of the application of virtual experiments on fluid material on student KPS and to determine the differences in KPS between groups using virtual experiments and groups not using virtual experiments at SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. The benefits provided include: the increasing quality of student KPS in physics material, the implementation of virtual experiments as an alternative to teachers and schools in physics learning which ultimately has an impact on the quality of education of a country, and as a reference material for other researchers in improving quality science learning like physics.

Research conducted at SMAN 5 Pekanbaru from October 2020 to December 2020 has implemented quasi-experimental research with a research design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study included all students of class XI MIPA, with a sample consisting of the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class was given treatment in the form of virtual experiment implementation, while the control class only carried out a conventional learning process. Before and after the material has been taught, students are given a test consisting of a pretest and posttest. Research data in the form of pretest and posttest results were processed quantitatively and displayed in a histogram to see the increase in student KPS, as well as differences in KPS between the experimental and control groups were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test.
The results of the descriptive study show that the experimental group has a higher average KPS score than the control group. While inferential using the Mann Whitney test shows a significance value or Asym. Sig. (2-tailed)
