Strategi Teknis Penanganan Lalu Lintas Pada Kawasan Central Business District (CBD) Di Kota Pekanbaru

Traffic management is one of the traffic management strategies that make maximum use of existing transportation infrastructure and facilities. The Central Business District (CBD) or the City Center Area (DPK) is the center of all city activities and a strategic location for city scale trading activities. One of the traffic constraints in Pekanbaru City, especially the activity center area of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (in front of STC - Jalan Ir Juanda) is the poor level of road performance in terms of speed, traffic volume and vehicle density.
This study aims to identify the performance of existing traffic in the CBD area of Pekanbaru City and provide a traffic handling scheme that is appropriate to traffic conditions through several scenarios. This research uses computer software, namely vissim, where the traffic handling scheme requires a correct road network modeling with microscopic traffic simulation. The parameters measured are the VC ratio of the roads, the level of road services, the speed of the roads, the total travel distance and the total travel time.
The results of this study indicate that the right scenario in handling traffic in the CBD area of Pekanbaru City is by controlling the parking lot and changing the parking angle of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan Juanda to a corner of 300 besides applying Jalan M. Yamin as a one-way road to Jalan Sudirman. as well as setting the intersection cycle with signals so that road performance is better at level C (0.45-0.74).
