Keanekaragaman Pohon Meranti (Shorea) Di Hutan Larangan Adat Ghimbo Potai Kabupaten Kampar
The Ghimbo Potai Prohibition Forest is a forest protected by customary law in the Koto Tibun Village, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This forest has a high diversity of flora including meranti diversity. Meranti is one of the economically valuable plants that needs conservation efforts. The initial step of conservation needs to be carried out research on diversity of meranti (Shorea). The purpose of this study is to determine the diversity of meranti tree species in the Ghimbo Potai Indigenous Forests. This research was conducted in October 2019 - April 2020 in the Ghimbo Potai Indigenous Forests. The method used was a checkered line by determining the transect by purposive sampling. The results found four types meranti with 29 individuals from 45 plots. The level of meranti diversity found in the Ghimbo Potai Indigenous Forest Prohibition belongs to the low category with an H’ on transect one 0.303, transect two 0.355 and transect three 0.360. At the research location, four types of meranti were found, meranti bunga (Shorea parvifolia Dyer.), meranti rambai (Shorea acuminata), meranti hijau (Shorea sp.) and meranti pirang (Shorea leprosula).
