Used cooking oil is used cooking oil over and over again. For traders using used cooking oil can get greater benefits because it can save costs. Used cooking oil if processed and utilized, can become a business opportunity for the community. Used cooking oil can be reused into soap, air freshener, animal feed, and even used as biodiesel. Used cooking oil in this study is used as a substitute for natural oil in the manufacture of air freshener because the linoleic and oleic acid content between used cooking oil and natural oil have the same value. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the behavior of the people in Senapelan District towards the use of used cooking oil, can used cooking oil be used as air freshener, and to analyze the business opportunities of this experiment. The research method used is a survey method to analyze people's behavior towards the use of used cooking oil and a completely randomized design factorial experimental method with nine combinations and three replications used to analyze used cooking oil which can be used as a substitute for natural oil in making air freshener and can be used as a new business opportunity for the people in Senapelan District.
The results of research on community behavior in Senapelan District, especially for fried food traders and uduk rice traders, the use of used cooking oil is still low (63.16%) traders still throw used cooking oil carelessly, in line with the traders' knowledge of the pollution caused by used cooking oil is also low (42.11%). Traders' knowledge of the existence of used cooking oil collectors is still the same, only 42.11%. Used cooking oil can be used as air freshener, the first process is to purify used cooking oil using 10% bagasse for 72 hours in order to get the best quality used used oil soaking as a basic ingredient for air freshener to replace natural oil. The use of used cooking oil to air fresheners is worthy of being a business opportunity for people in Senapelan District because it has economic value and is environmentally friendly compared to air fresheners that are already on the market today. These air fresheners contain harmful substances that can harm health, are not environmentally friendly and have high selling prices.
