Karakterisasi Lumut Leucobryum Spp. Asal Provinsi Riau Berdasarkan Karakter Fitokimianya
Leucobryum spp. is a member of the Leucobryaceae family whose morphology is easily recognizable, Leucobryum spp. has a strong water retention ability and this moss also contains active compounds both primary and secondary metabolite compounds. The purpose of this study was to characterize Leucobryum spp. origin of Riau Province based on the character of secondary metabolic compound content. This research was conducted from December 2019 to July 2020. The secondary metabolite content tests carried out included phytochemical tests, antioxidant tests using the DPPH method, determining total phenol levels using gallic acid (GAE) as a standard solution and determining total flavonoid levels using quercetin standards (QE). Leucobryum spp. was showed a positive reaction to flavonoids and steroids in phytochemical tests. Antioxidant activity of L. sumatranum is classified as weak with an IC50 value of 228.2268 ppm, L. glaucum, and L. candidum was classified as very weak with IC50 values of 594.6447 ppm and 804.7460 ppm, respectively. Total phenolic content of L. sumatranum of 12.47 mg/g, L. glaucum 8.09 mg/g, and L. candidum 7.04 mg/g. While the total flavonoid content of L. sumatranum is 10.08 mg/g, L. glaucum 7.82 mg/g, and L. candidum 5.78 mg/g.
Key words: Antioxidants, Leucobryum, Phytochemicals, Total Flavonoids, Total Phenolic.
