Riparian vegetation is vegetation in transition zone between water flow and land. One composition of riparian vegetation is trees, which have an important role in riparian zones. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and density of trees that grow in riparian zone at Hutan Larangan Adat Ghimbo Potai-Kampar. he method used was purposive sampling with a plot measuring 20 m x 20 in total of six plots. Field sampling was done in January 2020 in riparian zone of watercourse which has a length of around 700 m. Data collected in the field include tree diameter breast height(DBH), number of individuals and species diversity. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively based on Shannon-Wiener index of species diversity (H ') and density level.
