Skarifikasi Kimia Menggunakan Kno3 Dalam Pematahan Dormansi Biji Crotalaria Retusa L.
Crotalaria retusa L. is a type of Leguminoceae plant that has a high chance of being developed and utilized in the health and agroforestry fields. However, the hard skin of the C. retusa seed limits germination and inhibits seed availability, so scarification is necessary. This study aimed to break the dormancy of C. retusa seeds using chemical scarification in the immersion of KNO3 solution. This study used 6 treatments, namely without immersion (control), immersion in aquadest, immersion in KNO3 0.5%; 1.5%; 2%. Soaking treatment of C. retusa seeds in KNO3 0.5% affected the germination percentage parameters equal to the immersion treatment with aquadest, which was 100%. The vigour index, the Corrected Germination Rate Index (CGRI) and the fastest average germination, namely KNO3 0.5% compared to other treatments. Soaking C. retusa seeds with a concentration of KNO3 1; 1.5 and 2% were able to increase the germination percentage compared to the control, but KNO3 was 1.5% and 2% longer for the mean germination time than the control. KNO3 concentrations was 0.5% and KNO3 were 1%. The highest germination percentage and vigour index was at 0.5% KNO3 treatment.
