Efek Ekstrak Seledri (Apium Graveolens L. Var. Sylvester) Terhadap Kadar Asam Urat Tikus Putih (Rattus Novergicus Berkenhout 1769) Galur Wistar.
Celery (Apium graveolens L Sylvester) is an herb that has the potential as an alternative traditional medicine for anti-hyperuricemia because it contains flavonoids, 3-n butylphthalide and vitamin C which can inhibit the action of the Xanthine Oxidase enzyme which acts as catabolism of purines into uric acid. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism, at normal levels of uric acid acts as an antioxidant. However, uric acid levels uric acid levels exceeding normal limits can become free radicals that damage cells. This study aims to test the celery extract with various doses in reducing uric acid levels in male white rats. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 groups of 3 replications: K- (aspirin 12.6 mg / kg bw), K + (normal feed), P1 (celery extract 200 mg / kg bw + aspirin 12.6 mg / kg BW), P2 (celery extract 100 mg / kg BW + aspirin 12.6 mg / kg BW) and P3 (celery extract 50 mg / kg BW + aspirin 12.6 mg / kg BW). Uric acid levels were checked using an autocheck and uric acid strips. From the results of the study it was concluded that celery extract had an effect on uric acid levels. P3 treatment with a dose of 50mg / kg BW is the best treatment that can reduce uric acid levels from 9.50 mg / dl to 3.76 mg / dl.
