Isolasi Dan Uji Toksisitas Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dari Ekstrak N-Heksana Tumbuhan Kalakai (Stenochlaena Palustris)
Stenochlaena palustris is a Stenochlaena species that is often found in marshes, palms and often forms thick bushes which stretch all over the world. Some of these species were used as antioxidants and antibacterial activities. This study aimed to isolate the secondary metabolites of n-hexane extract contained in S. palustris and to determine the toxicity activity of the extracts, fractions, and compound by using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. Phytochemical analysis showed that the species contains flavonoid, saponins and steroids. The n-hexane extract was obtained from maceration and partitioning, then continued with VLC to produce 20 fractions. The crystal was formed from F3B and the purification was carried out by flash chromatography to obtain 115 subfractions. White crystals ware obtained from subfractions 24 to 27. The crystal were recrystallized and coded as SP-Hx-03. Its purity was analyzed by using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and the melting point analysis showed 121-123°C. FT-IR analysis data showed similarities with β-sitosterol. Toxicity analysis of the n-hexane extract, fraction, and compound SP-Hx-03 show LC50 at ≥ 1000 ppm, 381,066 ppm, ≥ 200 ppm.
