ABSTRACT
Dr. Street Soetomo is an undivided 2-lane 1-way collector road (2/1 UD) with a road
width of 8.9 m which is located in Rintis Village, Lima Puluh District, Pekanbaru City.
Soetomo is decreasing due to population growth, the number of motorized vehicles and
activities on the right and left of the road, so that the ratio between traffic volume and
road capacity becomes high which can lead to congestion. To prove this hypothesis, a
study was carried out using the direct survey method, data calculation using the
Indonesian Road Capacity Manual method, 1997 for inner-city roads, the study was
conducted to obtain data and to identify existing problems, so that it can be seen that
Jalan Dr. Soetomo. Based on the research results it is known that the peak traffic volume
of Jalan Dr. Soetomo occurs on Tuesday morning peak hours at 09.00-10.00 at 361,40
pcu / hour and road capacity is 2.000,63 pcu / hour with a DS value of 0.18 and a travel
speed of 64 km / hour. Dr. Street Soetomo Kota Pekanbaru is categorized at service level
A where the flow is smooth (Free Flow) with high vehicle speed the driver is free to
choose the desired speed without obstacles and also accompanied by low vehicle volume
