The percentage of Riau Province's GRDP in 2018 was 2.37%, while in 2019 it was 2.84%. Within a year span it has increased to 0.47%. This increase will also have an impact on economic growth. However, Riau Province's high economic growth, on the other hand, must be paid for by increasing land conversion. This also has an effect on increasing the number of cultivated areas in the agricultural sector.
With the development of development in Riau Province, especially development in the plantation sector, transmigration, and the increasingly widespread clearing of forest areas, the forest area becomes narrower as elephant habitat. This causes the elephant habitat to be fragmented and separate the elephant population. With the narrowing of the forest area and the insufficient availability of natural food, the elephants will look for places where food is widely available until they enter human cultivation areas, causing human-elephant conflict problems, namely elephants entering plantations, agriculture and settlements around. their habitat, causing considerable damage and loss.
SSH Tahura region is a conservation area in Riau province has an area of 6,172 hectares , which is part of a sub-population of the Sumatran elephant habitat. Where at this time the area is experiencing changes due to increased human activity for expansion of plantation areas. This will have an impact on the habitat conditions of the elephants which will result in disconnection of the home range to look for food sources. If this condition continues, it will also have an impact on the survival of the Sumatran elephant in the SSH Tahura area.
This study aims to calculate the potential forage in TAHURA SSH and to analyze population pressure on elephant habitat areas. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach d ith survey method .
The results showed that the overall production of elephant forage plants for 40 days was 77766.44 tons with an area of 6172 hectares and the production of elephant forage plants per hectare for 40 days was 12.59 tons . Overall elephant food plant production for 60 days was 70492.18 tons of 6172 hectares and the elephant food plant production for 60 days was 11.42 tons . The productivity per day of elephant feed plants for 40 days was = 314.99 kg / ha / day and for 60 days was 190.35 kg / ha / day .
Based on the calculation of the carrying capacity of elephant habitat in the Tahura SSH area with an area of 61.72 km² for 40 days it can accommodate 46.65 individuals / 61.72 km2 and for 60 days it can accommodate 28.19 individuals / 61.72 km².

The results of the calculation of Population Pressure in Rumbai Bukit District for the next 38 years (2010-2047) , it is known that the highest population pressure will be in 2047 as much as 127.67 and in 2046 as much as 127.65 . Meanwhile, the lowest population pressure was in 2010 at 126.58 and in 2011 at 126.62
