Analisis Faktor Lingkungan Dalam Sanitasi Total Berbasis Masyarakat Terhadap Kejadian Stunting Di Desa Ranah Singkuang Kabupaten Kampar
Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life (HPK). The condition of failure to thrive in children under five is caused by lack of nutritional intake for a long time and the occurrence of recurrent infections, and these two factors are influenced by inadequate parenting, especially in the 1,000 HPK. A child is classified as stunting if the length or height according to their age is lower than the applicable national standard. These standards are found in the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) book and several other documents. Stunting is a cumulative process caused by malnutrition of nutrients and the influence of environmental sanitation.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between environmental factors (physical, social, economic) in Community Based Total Sanitation (STBM) on the incidence of stunting in Ranah Singkuang Village, Kampar Regency. The benefit of this research is that it can be used as a consideration for policy making to determine strategies in preventing stunting from sensitive interventions on the fulfillment of drinking water and sanitation to achieve environmental health indicators in the working area of the puskesmas. For the village of Ranah Singkuang, Kampar District, it can be used as an effort towards achieving the village of 5 STBM Pillars so that it can reduce the stunting rate in the village and for future researchers it can become the basis for further researchers related to STBM and stunting in the village. This research was conducted in July 2020. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to all heads of families who have toddlers, quantitative analysis method with cross sectional approach.
The results of this study indicate that the most dominant variable affecting the occurrence of stunting is the variable of household trash cans with a p value of 0.000 and an OR of 38.916, which means that unqualified household trash facilities affect the incidence of stunting 38.916 times greater than that of household trash cans. stairs that qualify. This is because there are still many people who throw garbage in rivers or gardens because there is still a lack of adequate / fulfilling waste disposal facilities. It is recommended that one of the 5 pillars of STBM be strengthened, namely household waste management facilities.
