Isolasi Dan Uji Toksisitas Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dari Ekstrak N-Heksana Kulit Batang Medang Lendir (Litsea Glutinosa (Lour.) C.B.Rob.)
Plants of the Litsea genus are known to have anticancer bioactivity, anti-HIV and as cytotoxicity agents. Medang lendir (Litsea glutinosa) is a species of the Lauraceae family which is commonly found in tropical and sub-tropical regions. The local people uses the bark to repel mosquitoes by burning its stem barks. Phytochemical tests to this barks showed the presence of secondary metabolites of the terpenoid group. Extractions was done by maceration using n-hexane. The extract was separated by VLC using a gradient solvent and produced 12 fractions. A secondary metabolite (called LG-H-03) has been isolated from the bark by the radial chromatography (Chromatotron®) method from combined fraction of 4 and 5 using n-hexane and ethyl acetate as solvents. The compound was characterized by UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy, which showed the presence of the OH, aliphatic C-H, methyl (CH3), C=C, and C-O (alcohol) groups. Melting point obtained was 118-120oC. Toxicity test by the brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) method showed that LG-H-03 was non-toxic with LC50 value 367 ppm.
