Isolasi Dan Uji Toksisitas Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dari Ekstrak Etilasetat Pada Kulit Batang Medang Lendir (Litsea Glutinosa)
The stem bark of Litsea glutinosa (medang lendir) from the Lauraceae family has been used as mosquito repellent by indigeneous community in Kampar Kiri Hulu Sub-District, Riau Province. This study was aimed to isolate a secondary metabolite from ethyl acetate extract of the stem bark. The ethyl acetate extract was separated by VLC to give 11 fractions. Isolation was done at fraction of 3 and isolated compound from vial of 6th was separated by flash chromatography method. The pure compound was named LG-E-01. Lieberman-Burchard test showed that the LG-E-01 was classified as terpenoid. Purity of the compound was analyzed by HPLC showed one peak. The UV/VIS spectrum showed maximum absorption at 210 and 265 nm (C=C). The characterization of the compound was determined by FT-IR spectroscopy which showed the presence of the OH group, cyclic alkene C=C, aliphatic C-H, and alkohol C-O. The toxicity assay of ethylacetate extract, F3 fraction and LG-E-01 compound using the brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) were very toxic with LC50 values of 2.36;1.11 dan 15.07 µg/mL (ppm), respectively.
