Initially the rubber plantation was a bauxite mining area of PT Telaga Bintan Jaya. The area of the open mine is 60 hectares, but the reclaimed land is only 15 hectares. This location is located in the West Singkep District, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province. To prevent fatal environmental damage, reclamation is carried out by means of revegetation. Revegetation of rubber trees in post-mining bauxite land aims to improve the condition of land damaged by mining activities. Rubber plants can produce energy such as oxygen, wood, and biomass which can be used to support environmental improvement functions such as land rehabilitation for preventing erosion and flooding, regulating water use for other crops, and creating a healthy and pollution-free climate. Rubber revegetation was carried out on this land in 2012, 2014 and 2015 and divided into 3 locations based on the revegetation year. Each location has an area of 3-4 hectares, the area of which is overgrown with 2000 m2 of rubber plants with a spacing of 5 m. The importance of this research for the high school biology learning process as a learning resource. The results of research on understory plant types in bauxite rubber post-mining land in Singkep Island can be developed into an outdoor learning-based module design for high schools on biodiversity. With an outdoor learning-based module, the module content can make it easier for students to learn factually.
This study aims to: 1) Determine the types of understory plantations in post-mining bauxite rubber plantations in Singkep Island. 2) Producing an outdoor learning-based module on the types of understory plantations in bauxite rubber plantation in Singkep Island that can be used by high school biology teachers in broadening the understanding of biology learning about biodiversity.
To achieve this goal, descriptive research has been carried out using a survey method of post-mining bauxite rubber plantation on Singkep Island in December 2019-February 2020. Data was collected through direct observation in the rubber plantation area of bauxite post-mining land on Singkep Island.
The results showed that there were 30 species of understory plant in post-mining bauxite rubber plantations on Singkep Island, which consisted of 21 families. Of the 30 species of understory plant found, 11 species of understory plant were found in all rubber revegetation locations including Merremia peltata, Imperata cylindrica, Nepenthes sp, Melastoma malabathricum, Clidemia hirta, Gleichenia linearis, Stenochlaena palustris, Nephrolepis sp, Achillea millefolium, conjugatum, and Carex phacota. This type is an indicator of being able to survive in nutrient-poor and dry soil conditions. This indicates that these types of understory plant have a high tolerance for environmental factors in post-mining bauxite land in Singkep Island. And there are 8 species of understory plant which are classified as invasive types consisting of 8 families including Asistasia gangetica, Clidemia hirta, Imperata cylindrica, Mikania micrantha, Mimosa pudica, Passiflora foetida, Urena lobata, and Merremia peltata. This species has several special characteristics, namely growing and reproducing rapidly, high spreading ability, and high adaptation to the environment. As well as there are 4 groups of uses for understory plant types of bauxite rubber plantation in Singkep

Island, namely as medicinal plants consisting of 19 species from 14 families, forage plants consisting of 3 species from 2 families, ornamental plants consisting of 6 species from 6 families. , and plant dyes consist of 2 species from 2 families.
From this research has produced an outdoor learning-based module about the types of understory plant in the post-mining bauxite rubber plantation in Singkep Island. The validity of all aspects of the assessment in the developed module obtained a mean score of 3.52 with a very valid category. The validity consists of the validity of the 3.62 module format aspect with a very valid category, the validity of the graphic aspect 3.91 very valid categories, the validity of the illustration / picture aspects of the module 3.37 the very valid category, the validity of the language aspects used 3.00 valid categories, and the validity of the module content aspects 3.72 categories are very valid.
From the explanation above, it can be concluded that there are 30 species of understory plant in post-mining bauxite rubber plantations on Singkep Island, which consists of 21 families. Of the 30 understory plant species found, 11 understory plant species were found in all rubber vegetation revegetation locations consisting of 9 families and 8 understory plant species classified as invasive, consisting of 8 families, and 4 use groups.
an understory plant, namely as a medicinal plant, forage plant, ornamental plant, and plant for coloring matter. The module that is designed has obtained a decent quality and is suitable for use in high school / MA Biology learning, which means that it has met 5 aspects of the assessment indicators.
