Isolasi Dan Uji Toksisitas Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dari Ekstrak N-Heksana Tumbuhan Paku Ahaka (Vittaria Elongata Sw)
Vittaria elongata Sw ferns is one of the fern plants known as ahaka fern area wich is widely distributed in kampar and pelalawan, Riau Province. Ahaka fern is often found in palm trees and wetlands and then less sun. This plant has been is reported to have a high toxicity value in its ethanol extract in previous research. This plant is used by Indians to treat pain in the knee. The purpose of this investigation was to isolate and then characterize the pure compounds obtained from extract n-hexana and to determine the toxicity of the secondary metabolites compound by the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The extraction techniques were applied using the maceration method with methanol, continued fractionation by partition using n-hexane. Secondary metabolites were separated by using liquid chromatography and flash chromatography, after which the pure compounds were characterized by FTIR. White brownish amorphous compound with the FTIR result showed the presence of absorption band at wave number 3351 cm⁻¹ indicating the presence of an O-H bond. At the wave number 2850-2957cm⁻¹ which indicates the C-H aliphatic. At 1614 cm⁻¹ there is a C = C bond, in the wave number 1340-1383 cm⁻¹ is C-H from CH3. At 1462 cm⁻¹ there is CH₂. Wave numbers 1071 and 1023 cm⁻¹ exist for the C-O bond. However, due to the quantity of the compounds, the complate elucidation structure is unable to determined. The toxicity assay showed thae the n-hexane was considered as toxic with LC₅ₒ value of 161.163 µg/mL.
