Hubungan Minat Belajar Dengan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Peserta Didik Pada Pokok Bahasan Larutan Penyangga Di SMAN 4 Pekanbaru

Problem solving ability is one of the most important competencies for students to master. One of the factors that affect the problem-solving ability is the learning interest possessed by students. This research aims to find out the correlation between interest in learning and problem solving abilities of students. The research design of the study was quantitative descriptive survey research. The samples of the research were 64 students of XII MIPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2020/2021 by using probability sampling technique. The data were obtained from student's interest in learning questionnaire and a test of problem-solving abilities. All data were analyzed using the correlation test. The scores showed that there is a positive significant correlation between interest in learning and the problem solving abilities of students. The value of correlation coefficient was 0.981. The implication of this research is expected for teachers to be able to increase feelings of pleasure, interest in learning, attention and involvement of students in learning chemistry so that students' problem solving abilities are higher so that students are more analytical in dealing with various problems in their lives.
