Analisis Peran Dinas Sosial Terhadap Penanganan Anak Jalanan Di Kota Pekanbaru
This research is supported by facts in the field which show that there are still many street children roaming the city of Pekanbaru. Their presence at every traffic light intersection in the middle of the city seems to be a common sight. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the role of social services in handling street children in the city of Pekanbaru. The research objective was to determine the role of social services in handling street children in the city of Pekanbaru. According to the Riau Province Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2013 Paragraph 1 Article 14 concerning Protection of Basic Rights of Children Street children are children whose lives are irregular and spend most of their time outside the home to earn a living on the streets or in public places. This research method is qualitative, the data collection instruments used are observation, interviews and documentation. Respondents in this study amounted to 7 people, 2 people from the Social Service and 5 street children. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and accidental sampling. The results of this study are that the Pekanbaru City Social Service in carrying out its duties has not fully implemented the indicators contained in the Riau Regional Regulation No. 13/2013 concerning Children's Basic Rights. Of the 6 indicators (Health, Education,,
social mental and spiritual guidancesocial rehabilitation, mentoring and legal assistance) only 4 indicators have been implemented, namely Social Guidance, Social Rehabilitation, Assistance and Social Assistance. Meanwhile, two other indicators, namely Health and Education have been implemented but have not been maximized. This can be seen from the unsuccessfulness of the Social Service in dealing with street children so that they return to the streets.
