Potensi Buah Sawit Sebagai Indikator Asam Basa Yang Digunakan Dalam Praktikum Di S,MA/MA
In general, experimental activities in schools have not focused on sustainable chemistry learning, because experiments were carried out using synthetic materials, although some of them used materials from the environment but only in small amounts. The research that has been carried out includes exploratory research. The object of this research is to focus on natural indicators of acid-base practicum from oil palm fruit. Palm fruit extract was made using water and ethanol
solvents, made a buffer solution, tested the extract's optimum response to determine the optimal condition of the extract to be used as an acid-base indicator, then tested the length of use of the extract, tested the pH of the solution in daily ingredients, and acid titration alkaline. The results showed that the extract in ethanol solvent had optimal conditions for oil palm fruit extract and young palm fruit extract with ethanol as a solvent which showed a better and optimal response than other extracts. So that the pH indicator route of the oil palm fruit from color degradation can be made, which is around 2 , 5 -7.5 (red-green). For 11 days, the ethanol solvent of young palm extract still showed a pretty good response to the buffer solution. The titration is carried out on a strong acid with a strong base and a strong base with a strong acid. The% error is not more than 0.1%, in theory the titration is considered accurate. Based on the overall test, it shows good and accurate results on indicators of young palm fruit to be used as natural indicators of acid-base, to realize sustainable chemistry learning a practical guide was made using the palm fruit indicator for experiments in SMA / MA.
