Efektivitas Teknik Relaksasi Benson Terhadap Tingkat Kecemasan Pasien Pre Operasi

Operation is invasive technique that used to diagnose or treat disease. Operation
procedure can cause anxiety to the patient. One of technique that can reduce
anxiety level of patient is Benson relaxation technique. The aim of this research
was knowed the effectiveness of Benson relaxation technique on the preoperative
patient’s anxiety level at operating theatre Awal Bros Panam Hospital. Design of
this research was pretest-posttest design. A total of 30 respondents was sample
this research through accidental sampling. Respondents were interviewed using
structured questionnaires for anxiety and standard operating procedure (SOP) for
benson relaxation technique. Frequency distribution was used to univariat
analysis and paired t-test was used to bivariat analysis. Results of pretest from 30
respondents showed 15 respondents experienced moderate anxiety (50%) and 15
respondents experienced severe anxiety (50%). Results of posttest showed 17
respondents experienced moderate anxiety (56,7%) and 13 respondents
experienced mild anxiety (43,3%). Result from this research showed p value
(0,0000) < alpha (0,05). Best on this research Benson relaxation was effective to
reduce patient’s anxiety level at operating theatre Awal Bros Panam Hospital.
