Hubungan Kondisi Kesehatan Mental Emosional Pada Lansia Dengan Kualitas Hidup Lansia

The aging process causes a decrease in the body's various functions in the elderly, resulting in
the emergence of health problems one of which is the emotional mental health problems.
Mental healt condition in the elderly is closely related to the emotional and psychological
conditions that can affect the quality of life of the elderly. This study aims to determine the
relationship of emotional mental health conditions and quality of life of the elderly. This
research was conducted in health centers Inpatient Sidomulyo descriptive research design
correlation with approach cross sectional. Samples were taken in a way accidental sampling
and refers to the inclusion criteria. Measuring instrument used was a questionnaire Self
Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ 20) and World Health Organization Quality of Life-Bref
(WHOQOL-BREF) who have tested the validity and reliability. The analysis used univariate
analysis using bivariate frequency distribution and use chi-square test to see the value
Pearson chi-square. Statistical test results obtained p value (0.012) < α (0.05) showed no
significant relationship between emotional mental health conditions and quality of life of the
elderly. Based on this research is necessary to improve promotive, preventive, curative and
rehabilitative mental health of the elderly, so that mental health emotionally healthy elderly
are in optimal condition and have a good quality of life.
