Sintesis Zeolit Dari Abu Terbang Batubara Dan Uji Adsorpsi Terhadap Zat Organik, Warna Dan Logam Fe Pada Air Gambut
ABSTRACT
Coal fly ash is a waste material generated from steam power plants. Coal fly ash
has a high silica and alumina composition so it can be used as a base for zeolite
synthesis. Zeolites are crystalline aluminosilicate minerals with a threedimentional
open structure containing pores that can occupied by water and by
alkali and alkaline earth cations. The purpose of this study is to determine the
effect of SiO2/Al2O3 and H2O/Na2O mole ratios on the zeolitic synthesis result
tested by adsorption of organic matter, color and Fe in peat water. Synthesis of
zeolites were done with SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratios 1; 1,25; 1,5; 1,75; and 2 then
H2O/Na2O ratios 20; 25 and 30. The results of this study prove the highest
removal efficiency in the adsorbent of zeolites with SiO2/Al2O3 1 ratio and
H2O/Na2O 30. The removal efficiency of organic matter, color and Fe,
respectively 99.44%; 99.90% and 96.31%.
