Aplikasi Partikel Magnetik Disintesis Dari Pasir Pantai Padang Sumatera Barat Menggunakan Metode Ball Milling Dua Tahap Untuk Degradasi Metilen Biru
Methylene Blue is one of the synthetic dyes which is widely used in textile industry. Methylene Blue from textile industry produces a negative impact on health and the environment such as water contamination, therefore necessary to remove the methylne blue from contaminated water. The application of magnetite (Fe3O4) particles for degradation of Methylene Blue has been explored . The concentration of Methylene Blue was varied such as 25 ppm, 50 ppm, and 75 ppm. Magnetite particles was obtained by synthesizing beach sand of Padang West Sumatera using two-stage Ball Milling for (30+60) and (60+60) hours. The composition and morphology of the samples were determined using X-Ray fluorescence (XRF) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) respectively. The results show that the shape of the magnetite particles are irregular and the particle size is 13,03 μm for two stage Ball Milling. The results also show that the magnetite particle is able to degrade. Methylene Blue with higher efficiency of the degradation at 25 ppm concentration is around 99,38% for 14 hours of degradation.
