Strategi Pengembangan Ecoedupark Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau Pekanbaru
This research is motivated by the role of Riau University as a Green
Open Space (RTH) in Pekanbaru City in accordance with the Pekanbaru Mayor's
Decree number 94 of 2007 that the Bina Widya UNRI campus is part of the
Pekanbaru City Green Open Space (RTH). As part of RTH, Riau University has a
Green Campus mission which aims to provide a solution in environmental
management, so that it becomes an example for other institutions amidst the
current massive environmental degradation. In an effort to implement the Green
campus program, Riau University developed Ecoedupark, which is an advanced
Green campus program. It is hoped that Ecoedupark will provide a solution for
environmental management based on Malay culture and conservation, which aims
as a means of education, research, scientific development and it is hoped that
later it will develop towards ecotourism. This study aims to analyze the condition
of Ecoedupark Bina Widya Campus, Riau University from ecological, economic,
social and educational aspects.
This study aims to determine a strategy for the development of
Ecoedupark at the Bina Widya Campus of Riau University which is appropriate
and applicable to the University of Riau as part of the RTH of Pekanbaru City.
This research was conducted from June to July 2020 in the Ecoedupark area of
the Bina Widya Campus, Riau University. The research method used is a survey
method with a quantitative approach. The survey was conducted in two stages,
namely the first stage of collecting primary and secondary data and the second
stage of analyzing quantitative data and qualitative data. Primary data collection
was done by interviewing 30 (thirty) respondents based on the questionnaire.
Secondary data were taken from literature studies or from related institutions.
Observations were made of environmental conditions to describe the
environmental management of the Bina Widya Campus, Riau University
(ecological, economic-social and educational aspects) and documented in the
form of photos of the condition of the Ecoedupark on the Bina Widya Campus of
Riau University. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by identifying the
flora and fauna in the Ecoedupark of the Bina Widya UNRI campus. Rapid
assessment data were analyzed descriptively and interpreted by referring to
various existing references. The analysis of social, economic and educational data
was carried out descriptively using a questionnaire measured by giving a score to
the checklist, in the form of a closed question with two alternative answers,
namely "yes" given a weight of 1 (one) and the answer "no" given a weight of 0
(zero). The process of preparing the Ecoedupark development strategy plan
consists of three stages, namely: the data collection stage, the analysis stage and
the decision-making stage.

At the data collection stage, there are two types of data, namely external
data and internal data. External data is obtained from the outside environment,
while internal data is obtained from inside. The models used in data collection are
in the form of an internal strategic factor matrix (Internal Strategic Factor
Analysis Summary / IFAS) and an external strategic factor matrix (EFAS). The
tool used to formulate strategic development factors is the SWOT matrix. SWOT
analysis is based on logic that can maximize strengths (strengths) and
opportunities (opportunities), but simultaneously can minimize weaknesses
(weaknesses) and threats (threats). Determination of internal factors, strengths
and weaknesses is carried out by considering the analysis of the management of
the Bina Widya Campus that has been carried out. Determination of external
factors, opportunities and threats is carried out by analyzing conditions based on
indirect observations through literature studies and several other university
comparisons. The ecological conditions of the Ecoedupark on the Bina Widya
campus of Riau University were obtained and analyzed based on the results of the
location survey and identified with secondary data at the Center for
Environmental Studies (PSLH), Riau University. The ecological conditions
described include vegetation and animals in the Ecoedupark area of the Bina
Widya campus of Riau University. Based on the results of the analysis of
secondary vegetation data obtained by the researcher, some vegetation, such as
types of tree strata, saplings and seedlings, were still found in the study area. The
diversity of vegetation in Ecoedupark reaches 35 species and is generally in the
form of tree habitus with a height ranging from 13-70 m and a trunk diameter
ranging from 27-130 cm. Of the 35 species, it can be grouped into 19 families
which are dominated by plants from the Moraceae family and from the Fabaceae
family. The potential of animals in the Ecoedupark of Bina Widya Campus, Riau
University, is dominated by insect and aves groups. The most insects in the
Ecoedupark area of the Bina Widya Campus of Riau University are from
butterflies and from the aves group are birds. Referring to the concept of Fandeli
(2000) shows that the number of types of more than 20 types has a good meaning
for the development of the potential of an area, so that in the future Ecoedupark
can not only function as an education center, but Ecoedupark Bina Widya
Campus, Riau University can be developed into a tourist destination. in
Pekanbaru City. The large amount of vegetation that is owned by Eoedupark Bina
Widya Campus, Riau University can be used as a learning resource for students,
students and the general public who come to visit Ecoedupark, Bina Widya
Campus, Riau University As part of the Pekanbaru City Green Open Space (RTH)
in accordance with Mayor Regulation (Perwako) Number 94 of 2007, Riau
University has a main (intrinsic) function, namely an ecological function, and an
additional (extrinsic) function, namely architectural, social and economic
functions.
The results of data processing of respondents' answers obtained the
percentage results which are positive and negative in each of the sub indicators.
Positive indicates the highest percentage indicating the achievement of a subindicator
in each dimension. Meanwhile, negative shows the highest percentage of
respondents' perceptions that the sub-indicators have not been achieved. The
xvii
formulation of the Ecoedupark Development Strategy for the Bina Widya Campus
of the University of Riau uses the SWOT matrix and is analyzed on the internal
and external factors of the development of the Ecoedupark at the Bina Widya
Campus, Riau University, which are summarized in the Internal Strategic Factor
Analysis Summary (IFAS) and the External Strategic Factor Analysis Summary
(EFAS). The position diagram for the Ecoedupark development strategy of the
Bina Widya campus, Riau University, is illustrated by means of a formulation,
namely determining the axis of external factors and the axis of internal factors.
The strategy obtained is the SO strategy, namely a strategy that uses all strengths
to seize and take advantage of the greatest possible opportunity. The combination
of strength factors with possible opportunities that will be developed with the
existence of Ecoedupark is expected to be a strategy to develop Ecoedupark into
educational, economic research objectives and can even develop towards
ecotourism as expected and aspired by the Riau University green campus
program.
