World Health Organization (WHO) stated that patient safety has become a serious problem.
One way to improve pasient safety is to build a patient safety culture. Efforts to improve the
quality of service at Arifin Achmad Hospital are still not maximal in handling patient safety
due to the lack of awareness about importance of patient safety culture. There was a decrease
in the awareness of officers in reporting IKP for the 2017-2018 period, written reports were
not submitted to the KPRS and the response time for reporting was still low. The objective of
this study was to analyze the description of patient safety culture by nurses in the inpatient
room at Arifin Achmad Hospital. This research used a simple descriptive design. The
population in this research was 66 respondents and using a total sampling technique. The
analysis method used was univariate analysis. Result showed that patient safety culture at
Arifin Achmad Hospital had 54,5% patient safety culture in the good category and 45,5% in
the quite good category. Overall, nurses in the inpatient room at Arifin Achmad Hospital
have a good of patient safety culture. This study recommends, patient safety culture was an
important concern in the health care.
