Gambaran Upaya Mahasiswa Profesi Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Riau Terhadap Pencegahan Phlebitis Pada Pasien Anak

This study aims to describe the efforts of students of the Nurse Faculty of
Nursing, University of Riau against prevention phlebitis in pediatric patients. The
research design used a descriptive design with a number of respondents 109
professional students with purposive sampling. The study used a questionnaire
that had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used was univariate
analysis. The results obtained by the majority of respondents aged 20-25 years
were 93 students (85.3%). The majority of respondents were female as many as 81
students (74.3%). For the education program, the majority of program A
respondents were 70 students (64.2%). The nurse profession students have a
generally high percentage of phlebitis prevention efforts on the choice of insertion
location and the lowest in changing the infusion dressing every day and the
percentage of efforts to prevent chemical phlebitis is lower than mechanical and
bacterial. This research is expected to be used as information for nursing students
at the University of Riau in the prevention of phlebitis and to improve the
competence of students' lab skills on infusion in accordance with Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP).
