Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Terhadap Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Self Care Pada Pasien Stroke
Stroke is a rupture or arteriosclerosis of brain blood vessels which results in
weakness or paralysis, which causes disruption of the fulfillment of self-care
needs so that stroke patients need help from other people, especially families in
providing support and care. This study aims to determine the relationship between
family support and fulfillment of self-care needs in stroke patients. This research
design used a descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. The sample in
this study were 38 respondents who were taken based on incusion criteria with the
sampling technique total sampling. The measuring instruments used were the
family support questionnaire and the self-care fulfillment questionnaire that was
valid and reliable. The analysis used is bivariate analysis using the Kolmogorov
Smirnov test. The results of the study found high family support as many as 25
(65.8%) people experienced the fulfillment of self care needs with partial
assistance (56%), while at low family support as many as 13 (34.2%) people
tended to experience self-care needs with assistance. part-total (38.5%). The
Kolmogorov Smirnov test results found no relationship between family support
and the fulfillment of self-care needs in stroke patients with p value (0.781)> α
(0.05). The results of this study are expected to be an input for health care
providers in order to further improve education related to family support and
fulfillment of self-care needs in stroke patients.
