Hubungan Kualitas Tidur Dengan Kondisi Tekanan Darah Pada Lansia : Literature Review
The elderly experience changes in the neurological system where
there is a decrease in the number and size of neurons in the nervous system which
causes reduced neurotransmitter function and decreased norepinephrine, so that
sleep will also decrease which can cause vascular vasoconstriction. The purpose
of this study was to see an overview of sleep quality, blood pressure conditions
and the relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure from the articles
obtained by researchers. Methods: This study used a literature review design.
Results: The results obtained from 7 articles, 4 articles found that most of the
elderly had poor sleep quality and an increase in blood pressure in the elderly
which referred to hypertension, while 1 article found that most of the elderly had
poor sleep quality and the elderly had poor sleep quality. Hypertensive blood
pressure is more than the elderly who have normal blood pressure, but there is no
relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure in this article. The other 2
articles concluded that the duration of short or long sleep and the likelihood of
increased hypertension varied by sex and age group and systolic blood pressure
was significantly higher in the group whose bedtime was before 21:00 compared
with those whose bedtime was 21:00 or more slow. Conclusion: Some articles
stated that there was a relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure
conditions in the elderly and 1 article stated that sleep quality had no effect on
blood pressure in the elderly.
Keywords: Blood pressure, elderly, sleep quality
