Hubungan Antara Kualitas Dan Kuantitas Tidur Dengan Tekanan Darah Mahasiswa: Literature Review
Every individual is required to meet basic needs that are useful for
survival by maintaining life and health, one of which is sleep. University students
are at the stage of young adults, which has an increasing need for sleep, but they
have a variety of changes in activity that can affect to the quality and quantity of
sleep. Purpose: The aims of this literature study was to identify the correlation
between sleep quality and quantity with blood pressure. Methods: This study
method was a literature study obtained from scientific research article, according
to the inclusion criteria from the range of 2016-2020 using Science Direct and
Semantic Scholar. The keywords used were “Sleep Quality”, “Sleep Quantity”,
“Sleep Duration”, “Blood Pressure”, and “College Student”. Result: Based on 8
articles, it was found that the total number of respondents was 119.456 people and
p value < 0.05 for all articles with an interpretation there was a significant
relationship between sleep quality and quantity with blood pressure. Conclusion:
Sleep aspects that affect blood pressure are sleep quality, short sleep duration,
sleep disorders such as insomnia, sleep apnea, and other sleep disorders have also
been shown to be risk factors for hypertension. It’s suggested to university
students to increase their knowledge in quality and quantity of sleep with blood
pressure, so they can efforts to prevent and maintain the quality and quantity of
sleep well.
