Gambaran Kesehatan Mata Pada Anak Usia Sekolah
School age is a period development of eye organ maturity. Earlier
eye examination is very important to detect any vision impairment. The study
aims to determain the description eye healthiness for children in school age.
Methods: This study uses descriptive desaign with cross sectional approach. The
sample of this study is 50 respondents aged 8-12 years was taken based on
inclusion criteria in Pekanbaru City using accidental sampling technique.This
study is measured using Portable Eye Examination Kit (PEEK) Acuity to measure
the vision acuity. The analysis of the study was presented descriptif with a table
frequency distribution with cross tabulation. Results: The research found 26
respondents (52%) the incidence of visual impairmant mostly occurred in children
aged 8-10 years as many as 16 people (55.2%) and with female gender were 10
people (58.8%). Conclusion: Screening using the PEEK Acuity gauge is likely to
detect visual impairments in school-age children.
