Hubungan Antara Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya Dan Keluarga Terhadap Motivasi Mahasiswa Tingkat Akhir Dalam Menyusun Skripsi
University students are those who study at the higher education
level. Final year students have responsibility for complete the skripsi. The
problem experienced by students in composing skripsi is the lack of motivation
(Afdila, 2016). The motivation of the final student arises if assisted by peers and
families in the form of social support. Peers and family social support consists of
instrumental support, informational support, and reward support (Hendrianti &
Dewinda, 2019). This study aims to determine the relationship between peer and
family social support to the motivation of final year students in composing their
skripsi. Methods: This study used a descriptive correlational design with cross
sectional approach. The number of respondents was 123 final year students who
were composing their skripsi used total sampling technique. The measuring
instrument used was a questionnaire with validity test results using item-total
correlation obtained validity value result r > 0.443 and declared valid while
Reliability test is obtained cronbach alpha value result 0.845 and declared reliable
on all statements. This study used Chi Square test analysis. Result and
Conclusion: The results showed that there was a relationship between peer social
support and the motivation of final year students in composing the skripsi value of
0.000 (α < 0.05) and relationship between family support and motivation of final
year student in composing the skripsi value of 0.002 (α < 0.05). with the majority
of support gained from peers and families is emotional support. Researchers
recommend that peers and families provide the most social support is emotional
and instrumental support according to the results of this study so that the
motivation of the final student increases in compiling the skripsi.
