Gambaran Pengetahuan Mahasiswa Profesi Ners Tentang Patient Safety
Patient Safety is a system running by a hospital to keep the safety of the patient by
minimizing the risk and preventing an accident. Many cases regarding patient safety and an
adverse event are reported to date in Indonesia. Purpose: To conceive the nursing profession's
student awareness on patient safety. Method: Descriptive design with 110 respondents and a
purposive sampling technique with univariate analysis was applied in this research. Furthermore,
the questionnaire was distributed via online by Google form. Result: Here, the majority of 108
students have sufficient awareness about patient safety as many as 46 students (41.8%) are in the
score range of 56-75%. It was described on the definition of patient safety with the majority
answered questions correctly as much as 79.1%, the patient safety objectives answered correctly
as much as 54.1% and the patient safety incidents answered correctly as much as 46.9%. The
last, it was also denoted that the student knowledge of 6 objectives of patient safety related to
patient identification accuracy was (70%), effective communication with (70.5%), increased
drug safety that needed to be wary with (50.5%), the proper location, procedure, patient surgery
with (39.3%), reduced risk of health-related infection with (87.5%), and reduced risk of falling
patients with (59.1%). Conclusion: The research exhibited the nursing profession's student
awareness on patient safety was adequate.
