Gambaran Penerapan Patient Safety Oleh Perawat Pada Toddler Dengan Risiko Jatuh Di Ruang Rawat Inap Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Hospitals are required to apply the patient safety. The Patient safety is free from
injury/harm that should not occur in health services that caused by errors which include the
failure to reach the purpose. Purpose: Knowing the implementation of Patient safety by the
nurse to prevent of falling risk on a toddler in the inpatient room. Methods: This research was a
simple quantitative descriptive study, with 30 nurses as respondents by using total sampling
techniques. The data collection method in this study was questionnaires compiled by the
researcher himself, while the analysis technique applied Univariat analysis. Results: This study
explained that as many as 28 nurses reporting the falling incidents on the toddler in 1x24 hours
(93.3%). About 21 nurses less optimally were installing the bed fence or bedrail (70%). 24
nurses less optimally were mounting triangular labels on the bed board (80%). 24 nurses less
optimally were mounting restrain toward the restless patients (80%) and as many as 28 nurses
less optimally conducted a risk of falling assessment using humpty-dumpty (83.3%).
Conclusion: An overview of the patient safety application by the nurses to ward the falling risk
on toddler implemented less optimally. It is expected that this study will be beneficial for nurses
in order to conduct patient safety application with the risk of falling on toddler in the inpatient
room in the future.
