Pelaksanaan Keselamatan Pasien Dalam Identifikasi Pasien Di Rumah Sakit: Literature Review
Patient safety is an avoidance, prevention and improvement of the bad action or
injury that can come from the health care process. Patient safety starts with accurate patient
identification. Patient identification is important to certain patients get health services according
to standards and correct and appropriate treatment based on their needs. The purpose of this
study was to determine the implementation of patient safety in particular patient identification in
the hospital. Methods: This study used a literature review method. Search for articles using
Google Scholar, PubMed and Researchgate. Results and Conclusion: Based on five research
articles on Google Scholar, PubMed, and Researchgate it was found that 40% of the articles
stated that the implementation of patient identification was related to the installation of an
identity bracelet, there were 15.7% of patients who did not wear a bracelet. There are 20%
articles stating that the completeness of the name contained in the identity bracelet doesn’t match
the identity card as much as 2.2%. There are 20% articles about the implementation of
identification before giving oral drugs are 100% correct but related to the correct component of
information is still 80%. And there are 20% articles reviewed, it was found that many patients
and their families did not get an explanation regarding the importance of identification bracelets
and the patient identification process. Recommendation: It is recommended for further
researchers to examine the implementation of patient identification with different research
methods, so that the research results will be more accurate.
