Potensi Pemanfaatan Silase Maggot (Hermetia Illucens) Sebagai Sumber Protein Pengganti Tepung Ikan Dalam Pakan Untuk Meningkatkan Kinerja Pertumbuhan Ikan Baung (Hemibagrus Nemurus)
ABSTRACT
Diet is a component in aquaculture that is needed to increase fish growth. Until
now, imported fish meal is the main raw material for animal protein sources.
Maggot has high protein, abundant availability and it has the potential to be used
as a substitute for fish meal. This study aims to determine the use of the best
maggot silage meal (Hermetia illucens) in feed on feed efficiency and growth of
Green catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus). This research was conducted in August-
October 2020. This study used a one-factor completely randomized design (CRD)
with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this study was the use of the
amount of maggot silage meal (MSM) to replace fish meal in the diet which was
applied to P0 (0% MSM), P1 (25% MSM), P2 (50% MSM), P3 (75% MSM), P4 (
100% MSM). The test fish used were the green catfish fingerling with a size of
3.32 ± 0.138g. Fish are put in cages measuring 1x1x1 m with a stocking density
of 25 fish/m3. The dose of test diet is 10% of the biomass given 3 times a day, at
08.00, 12.00 and 16.00 WIB. To measure the digestibility of the diet used an
aquarium container measuring 60x40x40 cm with a stocking density of 1
fish/liter. Diet to measure feed digestibility and protein digestibility was added
with Cr2O3 as a marker. The results showed that the best treatment was P1 (25%
MSM) which produced 50.49% feed digestibility and 73.66% protein digestibility,
40.33% feed efficiency, 16.42% protein retention, 3.77% specific growth rate. and
survival 82.7%. The quality of water during the study was temperature 27-30οC,
pH 6.4-7 and DO 5.6-7 mg / L.
